While we have had dozens of successes (see our success stories section), we have had some losses, as well. Death is a part of life, albeit a difficult one for those left behind.
John Boy (Spring, 2012 - February, 2014)
Rest in peace, sweetheart. You were so incredibly loved, and will be missed until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. May your sweet spirit comfort your foster family, and the rest of us who loved you so much.
Cancer took you far too soon. Autopsy results showed the cancer had spread everywhere within his little body, in addition to the large lump that had attached to his liver. A month ago you were healthy, now you are gone. Life just doesn't seem fair sometimes.

Little Sweetie (October 2013 - November 2013)
This baby girl was shot with a bb gun and was in our care for only a few days while she fought so hard for life. It only takes a few days to fall utterly in love. Sweetie, so sorry you "got in the way" of the wrong sort of person in your short time here on Earth. Run free and without pain at the Rainbow Bridge... I will watch for you when I get there.

Albert (May 2012 - June, 2013)
Oh sweetie...words can never express my sorrow at losing you so young. I hope you know how incredibly loved and cherished you were and are. Run and play happily, hon. Your Laura will find you someday when her time comes.
Misty (2003? - 2013)
Rest in peace, sweet Misty. So wish there was more we could have done for you. Know that you were very loved...
Little Bit (2005 - 2013)
Rest in peace, Little Bit. You were very loved, and are deeply missed.
Ceydie (2003 - October 2012)
Rest in peace, Ceydie girl. You were very loved, and while your sweet presence is intensely missed, we are very grateful that you are now out of pain, and able to run and jump as you used to do.
Waldo (June 7, 2012 - September 2012)
I will never understand why you were taken from us so soon, my little one. Your little body was just not put together quite right, and after trying all we could, I couldn't stand to have you in pain. You are healthy and loved where you are now. Please know you are forever missed here. I love you sweetie.
Sweet Cady Girl (2010? - July, 2012)
In loving memory of my sweetest, Cady girl. I have missed you every day since you were adopted, but was comforted that you were so very loved by your new mom. Now you're gone and the comfort is gone. I love you sweetie. Wait for me at the Rainbow Bridge, hon. I will be looking for you. ♥
Sidney, 2009-March, 2012
Oh sweetheart, you have no idea how much you will be missed. Find your buddy Tommy at the Rainbow Bridge and play until we get there, hon. Love you more than words are capable of expressing.
Tron, 2010-April 2011
Play happily over the Rainbow Bridge, Tron, and wait for me there. I love you, sweetie, and miss you very much.
The Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies who has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
